Local (Austin, TX)
Check out the website for the next Greater Austin @ Work High School Career Fair. The annual Career Fair is sponsored by the City of Austin, Travis County, the Chamber and its workforce arm, the Capital Area Training Foundation, as well as the Capital Area Workforce Development Board and 25 area educational institutions. Its purpose is to acquaint students early with work experience so they can make intelligent choices about high school courses and higher education pathways. Let the e-recruiter take the hassle and cost out of setting up a great summer internship in central Texas, specifically for high school students (Ages 16-18 ONLY)! The online recruiter, which is free to both students and employers, was developed by Hire.com, the Austin-based company that developed the AustinAtWork.com electronic recruiter for the Austin American Statesman. Daily, weekly, monthly/quarterly, and seasonal volunteer opportunities with the parks and recreation department. Although aimed at UT students, the site has a searchable database of agencies looking for volunteers. Get your hands dirty while maintaining the trails or help out behind the scenes with event planning. Volunteers are the backbone of the wildflower center so lend a hand! Join in helping to maintain trails (and more!) at Wild Basin Preserve. |
