David Maraniss Profile

 

Name: David Maraniss

Title: Screenwriter

Professional Resume: Mr. Maraniss first started writing in college. He covered high school sports and student demonstrations at the University of Wisconsin. He then went into radio for a while. Maraniss worked for WIBA in Madison, which also had Radio-Free Madison. He was both a city hall reporter, and on weekends wrote and delivered his own 15-minute newscast. Then he went to the Trenton Times in New Jersey and was hired there in 1975 right after The Washington Post bought it. Maraniss worked there in '75 through the spring of '77 and then was hired by The Washington Post. Currently a reporter on the national desk for The Washington Post, Maraniss is the author of several books, including "First In His Class: The Biography of Bill Clinton." For his coverage of Bill Clinton's life and career, Maraniss won the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for national reporting.
