Suggested Schedule

Cyberways and Waterways activities are adoptable to your local needs, as each school is unique. Here are a few suggestions to get going, but please feel free to expand beyond the basics noted below:

Conduct baseline for Garbology Campus Beautification project (Tip: involve other student organizations)

 World Water Monitoring Day (think of this one for next year, though some of StuCo’s may jump on it now)

Select an activity for your campus project
November Conduct campus water baseline project Review Resource Links for program ideas and resources
December Begin discussions on Big Picture Project, Conduct Public Relations activities on Cyberways and Waterways program to-date (Tip: Involve your student paper) Obtain forms to track garbology and water activities
January Start Big Picture project Advisors receive passwords to 4e site and enroll StuCo members to the secured student area of 4e's web site. StuCo members log on, update their information and check out student web site guide.
February Mentor elementary and middle schools Establish your campus "field site", participate in discussion boards with fellow StuCo members, and begin posting your garbology data and photos
March

Mentor elementary and middle schools

Make headway on the Big Picture project

Finalize Big Picture Project idea, complete posting fall field data and photos, and participate in discussion boards
April

Communicate Big Picture project results at your school

Geocaching’s “Cache In Trash Out” Day

22nd - Earth Day

Post Big Picture project results, post data and photos from Earth Day activities
May Conduct public relations in community about Big Picture results, conduct “project analysis” for improvement and discuss summer initiatives Submit poll and survey ideas, post to the 4e-zine, and provide ideas for 2008/2009 school year
June

United Nations “World Environment Day”
